You don’t learn to drive by getting a car. You get taught by someone. As a trainer I simply always see people working out who would benefit so much from some instruction. Even a course of training- for example 10 sessions. It is not automatic that you will exercise in the way that gives you the best results or helps you prevent and avoid injury and pain. The opposite is more likely. This is why I really believe in what I do—because you’ll be better off with even a little help from me.

In addition to helping you change your body shape, increase your fitness or athletic conditioning and simply feel better, good training should also help you prevent (or even recover from) injury. To do so properly, a good trainer has to accurately assess you—your movement patterns, flexibility and mobility and your strength or lack thereof. Make sure your trainer can do this.

Let’s not forget motivation… even if you are something of a fitness expert yourself, you are still more likely to work out, to work out more regularly and to work out to the proper intensity if you have a qualified, attentive trainer there to coach you. Consider this valuable added benefit of working with a fitness professional.
